Smite – Thoth God Reveal

Like every 2 months, this time too, we’ve got yet another brand new God. This time around the Arbiter of the Damned joins the battleground and in this article we’re gonna be taking an in depth look at his kit.

Basic God Overview

Thoth is the latest ranged Egyptian mage and as such his default role is to be the most efficient damage dealer. Unfortunately for every careless player, Thoth doesn’t allow for mistakes. He doesn’t really have a good crowd control ability and his only escape move is kinda combo based. So be cautious when locking him in for the first couple of times.

Passive:

-Dead Reckoning:
Thoth pens the names of his fallen opponents in his book, recording their weaknesses. After killing 30 enemies (enemies are both gods and neutral minions!), Thoth gains a stack of 4 Magical Penetration. He unlocks a new stack every 4 levels, up to a maximum of 5 stacks at level 17.
Kills for one Stack: 30
Penetration: 4 per Stack
Max Penetration: 20 at 5 Stack

Combo Ability:

-Glyph of Pain:
Thoth summons a Hieroglyph mirror deployable in his aiming area. Every projectile based ability of Thoth’s that passes trough this mirror gains additional damage and range. Every ally as well as Thoth gain bonus damage for their basic attacks but they don’t get bonus range.
Ability Bonus Damage: 15/25/35/45/55 (+10% of your magical power)
Basic Attack Damage: 5/10/15/20/25 (+5% of your magical power)
Cooldown: 5 seconds
Cost: 60 mana

Movement Ability:

-Evade and Push:
This movement ability is very much like Rama’s one. Thoth can choose to dash in one of 8 different possible directions. This isn’t effected by Thoth’s facing position. After he dashes he can fire a magical projectile which slows enemies down and deals ability damage. Evade and Push can be used in combination with Glyph of Pain for bonus damage on projectile and range on dash.
Damage: 70/110/150/190/230 (+60% of your magical power)
Slow: 20/25/30/35/40%
Slow Duration: 2.5s
Range: 55
Cooldown: 18 seconds
Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana

Primary Damaging Ability:

-Hieroglyphic Assault:
Thoth summons 3 Hieroglyphs that are fired one by just like basic attacks. The Hieroglyphic Assault deals ability based damage and the 3 projectiles from it can and will pass trough enemies and Thoth ignores basic attack movement penalty. This is Thoth’s main wave clear tool and it’s best used in combination with Glyph of Pain as it gets bonus range and damage.
Damage Per Shot: 35/55/75/95/115 (+25% of your magical power)
Range: 55
Cooldown: 8 seconds
Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana

Ultimate:

-Final Judgement:
Thoth’s ultimate ability is channeling focused. He can summon 4 pages from his book. Once he’s done that a projectile will be fired off dealing maximum damage. Thoth can cancel channeling period any time he wants or he can choose to fire his ultimate when not completely channeled, dealing decreased damage based on the number of pages summoned. With Glyph of Pain he gets some bonus damage.
Damage: 360/440/520/600/680 (+140% of your magical power)
Range: 100
Cooldown: 75 seconds
Cost: 90 mana
