Red Dead Redemption 2 reviews – our round-up of all the critics
Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out tomorrow, but today’s the day that reviews for Rockstar’s cowboy epic arrive. Reviews are flooding the internet as I write this, so we’ve collected up all the critic’s scores to save you the trouble – and it’s off to a strong start.
It’s perhaps no great surprise that the game would perform well – Red Dead Redemption was a classic of the PS3 era. More recently, the developer’s latest release, a little game called Grand Theft Auto V scored extremely highly, and is one of the highest-earning pieces of culture ever created. With such pedigree behind it, Red Dead Redemption 2 was probably always going to do well.
And it’s been far from disappointing – I’ve seen plenty of five-star reviews, as well as a healthy number of nines and tens, all adding up to a massive 97 on Opencritic. That makes it all the more frustrating that there’s currently no word regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC. We’re pretty sure it’ll happen one day, but for now, Rockstar are keeping us PC players in the dark.
With all that in mind, check out our list of Red Dead Redemption 2 review scores:
The Guardian – 5/5
Eurogamer – Recommended
GameInformer – 10/10
VideoGamer – 9/10
Metro – 9/10
DualShockers – 10/10
Telegraph – 5/5
Gamespot – 9/10
IGN – 10/10
TrueAchievements – 5/5
Destructoid – 95/100
GamesRadar+ – 100/100
There you have it – if Red Dead Redemption 2 keeps up these kind of scores, it’ll top God of War as this year’s best game. 100% scores dominate this review round-up, making it look as though Rockstar has pulled off a generation-defining masterpiece. Now I guess we just have to wait to get it on PC.
