Suicide Squad meets PUBG with a Harley Quinn outfit

The DC Universe is heading to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, as one of the comic giant’s most iconic villains is making her way to the game. In a tweet posted last night, the PUBG account revealed that you’ll soon be able to play as Harley Quinn in Bluehole’s battle royale.

PUBG’s version of Quinn is very clearly based on Margot Robbie’s depiction of the character in 2016’s Suicide Squad. The tweet, which you can check out below, warns of an imminent prison break, and contains a video that opens on a shot of the Erangel map’s prison area.

From there, we pan to a shot of the boots and fishnet tights that Quinn wears in the film. After that, we get a close-up look at the character’s ‘Puddin’ choker, as well as the red and blue pigtails that Robbie sports in the movie. We don’t get to see much more, but from what’s on display I’d presume that PUBG Corp has put together a pretty faithful recreation of the rest of the character’s outfit.

After the costume close-up, the video switches to a shot of a frag grenade. The resulting explosion kicks up a cloud of smoke, through which we can see Quinn (wielding her baseball bat) and another, male, figure.

That figure is yet to be identified. Unconfirmed reports on the game’s official Discord suggest it’s the Joker, which would make a lot of sense. Given how closely Quinn’s outfit matches her depiction in the film, however, I’m not sure I agree. At a glance, many photos of Jared Leto’s Joker show him in a shiny, purple duster with a massive collar, and the second figure in that last shot doesn’t appear to be wearing a coat.

Quinn and her friend are reportedly available in the game files right now, but aren’t available for purchase at the moment. I presume they’ll be added pretty soon, however, so keep an eye out over the weekend.

This is, of course, not the first time a comic book villain has featured in a battle royale. Earlier this year, Avengers: Infinity War’s Thanos showed up in his very own Fortnite game mode, in which players had to compete for the right to wield the legendary Infinity Gauntlet. Sadly there were no Avengers skins included in that crossover, so we’re yet to see Black Panther and pals claim a Victory Royale.
