You Might Be Able to Play Super Mario on Xbox One
The classic Super Mario and its derivative games might be coming to Xbox One platform as Xbox Head Phil Spencer hinted it on his interview to AusGamers recently. Super Mario is currently an exclusive series for NES maker Nintendo and Phil considers his wish to be granted as a return favor as Microsoft gave their exclusive title Minecraft to be playable on Wii U.
Super Mario is what we would call the true beginning of a gamer. Each and every gamer would have had a time where they got striven to save Mario’s queen. And if it is onto Xbox One, then no matter how much it will cost, most people would buy it again. Because till now we bought Nintendo consoles to enjoy their exclusive titles and we had an Xbox One or other console to play heavy titles. Or if you aren’t that type, you might be missing Mario for a long time, so a chance to play it on Xbox console is one of the best thing we will ever get.
Spencer said “Nintendo has the strongest first-party of anybody.
“They’re just fantastic and the memories that they have instilled in so many of us, who’ve played their games and had those delightful experiences, having those on Xbox would be great,” he added.
Spencer’s words suggest a strong chance for Mario’s debut on Xbox One but we should also note that, Spencer had tried so many great things involving another console maker but eventually turned down. He tried to merge Xbox Live and PlayStation Network so that Xbox users can play with PS4 users and vice versa. But Sony eventually turned down the offer. So we could only hope in Mario’s case!
“It’s been a great partnership on Minecraft,” Spencer said. “… I mean if that paid dividends down the road that lead to something else, that would be fantastic. … I’d love to see Mario on Xbox.” added the Xbox exec. Also Spencer hinted of a Microsoft-Nintendo collaboration in his reply to a Twitter fan. He supported his fan’s question of adding ‘Banjo’ to the next Super Mario Bros. roster.
@PedroDarkinson I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC. We've worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues.
