World of Tanks: M4A1 Revalorisé Tank Review

World of Tanks: M4A1 Revalorisé Tank Review

As you’re probably aware the World of Tanks is by far the most popular MMO tank combat based game. At its core it’a free-to-play game with some items being obtainable only by spending real life money. One of those things are Premium tanks.

Little explanation about premium tanks

These vehicles are not ones that can be bought via in-game money, credits. To get one of these vehicles you need to be extremely lucky in contest that are organized by Wargaming or to spend real life money. Premium vehicles don’t bring anything new to the table and are in wast majority under powered when compared with vehicles of same tier. So there isn’t any pay-to-win aspect. However, there are 2 things prem vehicles are great at: making huge amounts of credits and training crew.

In this article I’m going to review my experience with a tank I think is most entertaining is class of premium vehicles – M4A1 Revalorisé.
#I will not talk about the exact numbers as that’s not really what’s article about. Here I’ll give you my personal opinion in regards to this tank. If you’re interested in hard numbers then you can check them out here.
This is a French medium tank so training your crew for Bat. Chat or AMX 30B is best done in this vehicle. However, this is not the only tier 8 French medium tank. There’s also AMX CDC. In short notes the biggest difference in these tanks is speed, where CDC takes the crown and gun performance, where’s Rev. better in my opinion.
Armor: M4A1 doesn’t have any armor. Yes, on paper it does, however don’t expect to bounce many shells. The gun mantle can be trollish but it’s far from one to be relied upon.
Gun: this is where this tank shines. For its tier it carries a huge gun with insane alpha damage and not so bad soft stats. However, the reload after taking each shot is a significant one so Rev. doesn’t have that great of a DPM.
Mobility: in this category the tank is quite decent. It doesn’t have that insane engine that its counterpart CDC has, but the hidden stats like terrain resistances allow this tank to be very nimble.
Matchmaking: unfortunately M4A1 doesn’t get preferential matchmaking. Meaning that it can and will meet vehicles that are 2 tiers higher. However, if this tank had pref MM it would be undoubtedly overpowered.
Credits farming: besides the gun this was the selling point for me. Revalorisé makes an insane amounts of credits. This is because premium vehicles as I already mentioned have a benefit of making premium amounts of credits. Thus making easier for everyone that spends money on the game to grind trough it faster.

Is M4A1 Revalorisé worth it?

As someone who doesn’t like tedious credits grinding this was a must have. It does it extremely effectively. The other thing I asked myself before buying it was: ‘Will I like the tanks play style?’. The answer to this I got by playing it on PTS for couple of hours. And the answer was ‘hell yeah!’. If you’re someone that likes that derp Soviet 122mm gun then this tank will feel somewhat familiar even if it is other tech three. I personally enjoy greater alpha damage over the rate of fire so I choose this tank instead of AMX CDC.
