EA’s Big Surprises from E3 2016
E3 is a gamer’s best week in an year. From announcing video games to releasing another video game everyone is excited and relieved. Let’s take a look at the major surprise announcements made at this year’s E3 Press Conference. We are not covering everything from the E3 showcase but only the ‘surprises’.
A two-stage conference
EA showed off their latest additions in two stages. One big show in Los Angeles and the other one in London, but two of them were shown what was happening at their counterpart.
When Sony did a bandwork, Microsoft their powerful console and Ubisoft with Aisha Tyler, EA brought someone unexpected and so much surprising (at least for the Europeans) on stage.
A huge surprise leak?
Leaks were not meant to be surprising. But what of hearing about your favorite game’s leak just when you are expecting for a reveal tomorrow? EA’s rehearsal for their online E3 press conference, leaked their new Titanfall details, just the day before their conference.
First on stage was Vince Zampella from Respawn, after EA CEO Andrew Wilson and Peter Moore told us about what you could expect from them that day.
Vince (even if it was leaked) showed their new Titanfall 2 trailer and introduced the new additions including the fan-demanded single player mode and also new gadgets including the grapple hook and 6 new titans. There will be a multiplayer beta for Titanfall before launch. And this time PS4 players can also have a taste of the new Titanfall. Titanfall will be released on October 28, 2016 on Xbox One, PC and PS4.
Check out the two trailers below.
Peter Moore revealed their new Madden NFL 17 with a trailer off course! The new Madden introduces a new mode- Play The Moment into its franchise mode. Play The Moment speeds up the play by taking the player into football’s key moments.
Raising the stake
Peter Moore, in addition to their new Madden reveal, told us about their eSports, stating that “a new approach to competitive gaming”, thus making it accessible to more players. There is also a big Madden NFL 16 competition taking place, with an increased price money to $1 million. Check out Peter Moore’s Madden reveal and eSports speech during their conference.
A whole new setting, called Andromeda
EA broke down to the new Mass Effect, introducing the new setting, I mean completely new, with new places, new species and a total break away from the previous game. But still, not a proper trailer has been released or maybe created. It still feels like the game has not reached to its final state or even nearing it. The release hasn’t been specified, they will be sharing more about it this October.
The game shares the Frostbite Engine, which means more freedom with advanced graphics. Check out Mass Effect: Andromeda video documentary trailer below.
A gaming charity
Then Andrew Wilson, told us about their new program- Play To Give, gameplay challenges with charity donations. EA would donate $1 million dollar at the end of a global play session as charity.
The next FIFA installment adds some great additions to the already fantastic FIFA 16. The new FIFA is based on the Frostbite engine, which made the Battlefield and the Need For Speed beautiful to our eyes. Okay, that’s the yearly-routine for FIFA but wait.. we have something more. EA introduced The Journey. You can take the role of Alex Hunter, a slum from England, on his journey as an amateur to a world-class. The trailer showed a ‘GTA-style’ FIFA, in which you will be treated with a high-end apartment and also features a set of new characters with dialogues.
The next treat for FIFA fans is the addition of some finest managers from the English Premier League.
The three best managers.. or is it four?
Peter Moore was busy unveiling their next FIFA game and the last portion was to reveal their new manager addition. His speech was going so well until he introduced Pep Guardiola, Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp into their next FIFA. But what’s there to go wrong? Peter also stated that “these three are the best managers, second to none..” but, gosh, did he thought of Jose Mourinho to enter into the stage while making his statement? Check out Mourinho’s part in this years E3 below.
EA spoke about the beautiful Unravel and their developers, Coldwood Studios. EA wants more developers like them. For that EA introduces their new initiative program, EA Originals, which involves funding and supporting small developers in creating their game with all profit going back the developers. The first EA Originals title is Fe. Fe puts you in a beautiful open-world. There will be no hand-guiding in Fe, means their will be no limits or blocking for you to roam around its setting. Take a look at the beautiful Fe below.
Plans for Star Wars
EA has some great developers working for more than one Star Wars titles across the world. You can already play three Star Wars game right now- Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Star Wars: Battlefront. Next year, a new installment for Star Wars: Battlefront developed by DICE in collaboration with Motive is getting released. It also features some new elements including contents from the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie. In 2018, Visceral is creating a new action-adventure game plus a new action game from Respawn beyond all this. Take a look at the sneak peak revealed at this years E3.
Last but not the least..
“Battlefield 1 is no ordinary game. It was a long-term project” according to DICE and the new trailer made us believe their words. Battlefield 1 takes place during the first world war. An hour of 64 player online gameplay of Battlefield 1 was shown to the audience after the show. The weather and destruction greatly results the map and gameplay according to DICE. It will be a different experience to play Battlefield 1 in the rain than in the sun. Battlefield 1 is out on October 21, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
