As a Reaper you role is to shake enemies back line. Often your only job is to assassinate Mercy, Junkrat,Torbjorn or Bastion. Against this characters Reaper excels but he can easily go toe to toe against other close range heroes like Traces and sometimes Roadhog.
The biggest counters to a Reaper are: McCree, Lúcio, Zarya, Pharah and Widowmaker in some circumstances. You should generally try to avoid them as much as possible because a competent player will destroy you even on bad days.
General rule of thumb: If you’re not medaling on damage done at every point in the game you should consider switching to other character. Reaper is one of the main DPS heroes and as such he should always be in top 3 by damage done.
-Reaper can Shadow Step onto Junkrats Rip-Tire.
-While in Wraith Form you can pick up health packs and Soul Globes.
-When Shadow Stepping over the Soul Globe or health pack you’ll pick it up no matter where you land.
-Wraith Form counters all damaging ultimates in the game.
